Didnt think the 04's had that problem. Thought it was the 05's i know mine went and honda built me a new engine for free. Guess the dealer couldnt get a complete motor so they ordered it peice by peice and built it for me. took a week but its been fine ever since.

Mine just bite the dust too. They said my lower rod bearing went out and took both the crankcase bearings with it.

that's what it is, my rod bearing. I'm gonna get ahold of the factory piston and install it back into the motor and hopefully the extended warrenty will cover it. how much did the repair cost you? or was it covered?

it's my lower rod bearing that went out. I'll get pics later tonight after work. it sucks. I just got her back together after pc'n the frame and it ran awesome the past 3 weekends. I gave it three kicks yesterday to go for a ride, and on the third kick it wouldn't turn over. I think the crank bearings might still be good because the crank moves freely. the rod bearings definately shot though. the case has to split either way.

That's inexcusable for the bearings to go out that early. wheres quality control?

don't know, it's been running problem free for two years. I'm sure the 13:1 compression didn't exactly help out too much either

It was the thrust washers on each side of the rod that went on mine. My bearing was only scored. It only ran with a knock for about 3sec toatal.

Man I am sorry. You got ripped off big time. 100 for a filter? thats insane. You can get a K&N which is the most expensive one you can get for like 50 bucks. and you walked out the door for about 9,000 some? people are paying around 6,500 out the door for those things around here. and they charged you 200 dollars for set up haha they like tighten up the handlebars and put a little gas in it.
