450r throttle on 400ex

well i just made my mind up and im getting rid of my twist throttle..my friend with a 450 says he'll trade me his thumb off his bike for my twist if they fit.. so my question is can i switch him? and if so what cable will i need to buy for his throttle to fit my carb? thanks

An OEM 400ex throttle cable will do just fine as far as I can tell. Because on my CRF quad I have a 400ex throttle housing with a TRX450R throttle cable for my FCR carb, so up at the housing its the same threaded end. So a stock 400ex one should be what you need.
