well last my head gasket blew on my EX and so i tore her down to get ready to get some new head studs put in, andi figured while i'm in theere i might as well re-ring my 7 year old 440. i was told when i bought it that it was stroked +4mm and bored to 87mm=440. and it had a wiseco piston in it. well today i took a tape measure to it and just looked and it show somwhere around 89mm. and i looked under the piston and it says JE 89mm. and i look close an its the stock rod aswell:eek2: but now what i'm wondering he said it was 10:1 compression and i'll post some pics and maybe somone can tell me what compressiopn ratio this piston looks like.

thanks,
Jordan

You've got the "old" stage 2. They changed the grind of the stage 2 just a little.

it would be smart to get a HD rod

this winter i'm planing on doing a 465 stroker and replacing the stock rod. i'm really leaning towards a wiseco 89mm 11:1 piston now.that the skitrt has cracks in it i'd rather go with what i know more about.

thanks

FWIW, Wiesco has nothing on JE. I actually like JE a little more. Don't let an old piston that cracked for reasons that may not be the piston's fault turn you off to a good manufacture.
