there is a red short box for 29k for sale at the local dealer, and yes it is the viper v-10 motor srt-10, not a stock ram, it is used has around 10k miles on it but still

Lambos get the same mpg haha. A guy that used to take my home from school sometimes before I got my license is a manager at a huge dodge dealership here. He gets to take all the nice cars home at night, one night he had a srt-10, but of course it was the day he didnt take me home. I just dont have any luck.

saw a nice viper on the road today  ...but if your interested in buying an srt-10 ram and worrying about the gas mileage, your buying one for the wrong reason. simple as that.

got a chance to ride in one at a srt racing experience thing in SC, those things are scary fast, and it surprised my how good they handle on a road course too!

not a jet but maybe a toy hauler, baja boat, or anything else i might need to!

DieselBoy
06-11-2006, 12:45 PM
I truly doubt an SRT-10 is a good choice for towing anything remotely heavy. The engine might be up for the task, but I'm sure they are geared tall and they just don't strike me as the type of pickup for towing, they are a speed truck... But for a bike and a light boat I don't see why not.

atvRiDa400ex

yea exactly bike...boat... just small things! its allll good

Everyone can drive like a grandma, but I guarantee that with a truck as fast as that, you definately wont. Maybe the first month, but after that you'll start flying everywhere just because you can, I learned that when I was able to start driving my dads chrysler 300c.

We had a srt10 at the dodge dealer I work at, it was an awesome ride I got to drive it for a while. Very easy power you didnt have to give it much gas at all and 100 in third gear came pretty quick. I think they are only rated to pull 800lbs though so if you want to pull a trailer you better look at a hemi or a cummins

those 300c's suck big time

and the srt-10s are horrible for towing

and what do they get for gas i get 11.7mpg in my i-6 4.0L grand cherokee jeep and its a 98

srt-10's may have a viper engine but they ain't **** on the street.

can't hook up.... and yes i've raced a few

faster than hell at the strip w/ slicks though

Buy a diesel and hop it up. For as much as an SRT-10, you could easily have a 600 rwhp, 1100 ft-lb monster. :macho

Get a Cummins or a Dmax, stay away from the Fords.

Bigger the better I say.

What do you have against 300c's? Its a sweet looking car, and fast enough to have a little fun in.

The 7.3 was a monster but I would definitely stay away from th 6.0. I'm a chevy guy at heart but i would probly get a dodge w/ the cummins. (given the money:D )

My dad came close to trading his in for a srt-8, but they weren't going to give him much for his 300c. He has already put about 65,000 miles on it. I've always wanted to drive one of the srt-8s though, it sounds like a fun car. Faster, racing suspension, 20 inch stock rims.

I got a ride in a viper srt-10 the other day for the first time and all I can say is holy ****!!! Before I rode in the car I would have only dreamed of owning one, now I know for certain I dont want one. WAAAYYY too fast for me. I have absolutely no use for a car that fast. I will either A) have a million tickets if Im lucky, or B) wind up in a tree somewhere. No way!!!

They are just rediculous. We went slow at first to get some heat going in the tires, then did a little speed run. First three gears the car really couldn't find traction. He didn't hammer down through all of them either, he let off for each one and then just gave it gas and the *** end was slippin pretty good. 110mph in third gear came like faster than I could even say 110.:eek2: It would definitely have gone faster in third as well, but he let off. It would be a fun car to try out on a track in a nice safe place, but other than that forget about it.

ahhhh 15yr olds and there pie in the sky dream world..

I now today own a buisness(yah I'm in debt) but its akll good..have a lovley wife and a baby on the way..sure i still wanna have fun and go fast (which i do daily)

Anyways...Dude...your not gonna get a SRT10 Ram anytime soon....and if you do,..your parents will be mourning over your grave..

Oh and the Japs built the Duramax? wrong jackass...joint design between Isuzu/GM...GM bought all rights and its produced in Morraine Ohio...so stfu...

Oh BTW..

C6 Z06 Vette....505hp and 30mpg FTW

How the heck are you only getting 11.7 mpg??? You are either trying to tow a bobcat or you need to change you oxygen sensors or something. I have a 5.3 in my silverado and have my foot in it enough and can get about 16 in town, if not better. Granted it's a 5.3 in a Reg. Cab shortbed stepside, so the trucks light but still.- I'm just saying that sounds f***ed up

UMMM NOOO

Thats IS NOT what I said...

I said the DESIGN was a joint effort between GM...and Isuzu...Isuzu helped design it..get it..design....

GM makes them in OHIO...no isuzu..GM..GM also own's part of Isuzu....

So let me refresh this again..

Joint Design between GM.Isuzu...GM owns all rights.

GM Builds in Ohio...got it?

you seem to be a lil slow..so i'll glady say it again if need be..

Also....wtf is the deal w/ ppl complainging about gas mileage...

Its a Hot Rod truck...complaining about thatis like complaining about your fat girlfriend eating all the groceries..

My dads 97 V10 dodge barley gets 10mpg...

so I can see where a 500hp V10 only gets 11mpg in a 6k lb Brick

i mean its not diesel where you can make 500rwhp and get 20mpg still...geez ppl

just get a new f150 with the 5.4, drive it for a while, then slap on a roush supercharger......450 hp, tows better, gets better gas mileage, cheaper insurance, and cheaper to buy

the srt-8s are bad too, AWD and will smoke the srt10

sorry you got mad that i put your truck down, but numbers show that the jeep srt8 has quicker 0-60 times, and alot more, plus its awd, so when its rainy outside some of that power will get to the ground, and if you think a supercharged f150 will get worse gas mileage than 9:eek2: , or wait a minute, yea that insurance, whew i bet insurance on an f150 is gonna be astounding compared to the srt10. those 10's are nice trucks, just not real logical for 99.99% of people

Dude, gas is for washin parts. Diesel is where its at man. Our truck gets right around 20 mpg goin 70, it would do maybe 24 if I drove slower. There are chips out there that add more torque than the SRT-10 has. Yeah, our truck weighs 7500 but the torque makes it feel like a sportscar. Ours isn't very stock either.

brandon34r
06-15-2006, 04:49 AM
if you want an SRT get a srt-4 like I did,I always wanted a ram srt-10 but definatly cant afford it.they still looks decent and get 26 mpg! Granted the srt-4 doesnt have a Viper motor under the hood though

 man dodge is where its at!

And as far as the 300c's go...I think they look badass. my buddy has one and I drove it for a month while I was putting the fiberglass system in it.Man do they look awesome inside. The outside doesnt look too shabby either

cant argue with you there, a friend of mine has a f250 7.3 with only a chip and exhaust and is just as fast as my truck. there is a chip for the new 06 cummins that adds 300 hp, thats on top of the 300 stock, 600 hp...whew

Insurance isn't bad for the srt-10. Of course I am in my mid 30's and have multiple vehicle discounts..............as for the srt-8 jeep, I thought you were talking about the srt-8 300 series cars. Not sure what the jeeps do, but I can tell you this, the SRT-10 is extremely fast & handles better than any Ford F-150.

I am not mad that you don't like my truck............heck I am glad alot of folks don't like it. That insures the fact that I will be driving a rare vehicle. As for having a logical set of wheels..........buy a VW Jetta.

yea man, wasnt tryin to be an a**, and not to say i wouldnt love to have a 10, i mean heck its the fastest production truck available, and appears to be holding that position for a while. ford dropped the plans for the 3rd gen lightning, and i dont see chevy throwing anything out there. check out the jeep though, its definately amazing, 450 hp, but thats all going to the ground. any superchargers for the 10 yet? that would be pretty sick
