Pappy

No wonder Codys so good! Tryin to run down an older guy on a YFZ!

How long are the lap times in the woods?

Pappy
06-09-2006, 07:29 PM
I havent timed it, a geuss would be around 5 minute laps

how do YOU feel the yfz compares to a 450r in the woods in stock form, since you have owned both

Pappy

They both offer advantages over the other. It will come down to your riding style and which quad fits you the best.

Thats awesome. I guess he likes the 300 eh?:p

5 minute laps? You must have a lot of land:cool:

I have 13 acres, and all totaled we had 1 1/2 mile of trail. It is extremely tight and twists and turns to work his upper body.

The track he runs on now is condensed because I wont let him run on my food plots for my deer:p I made it tight, technical, creeks, rocks, ruts, mud, open sections, hillclimbs, downhills. offcambers...pretty much everything a XC race USED to be:p

how long is the track?

me and a friend have a 2mile xc track built on his 33 acres, its a pretty fun track and a good length for practicing. its really tight though cuz he and his dad race bikes...but we cut alternate routes for me to get through lol.

i cant wait to see what this 300 looks like once you get started with it.

thats good, make sure he gets plenty comfortable with off camber hills, because im not sure how they do things where yall race, but around here, they LOVE putting off camber hills all over our harescramble tracks, especially since we have big dirtbike classes.
but they can really slow you down if your not used to them.....i know they did to me

Pappy

I will try and get pics that show how severe some of this is:p i am standing up taking this picture, the big down hill is way steep and on one heck of an offcamber that switches 2 or 3 times as you go down it

Pappy

and this is WV....we do not know what flat ground is:p

Pappy

I reckon i will have to widen the trails a bit once I add his new arms

Pappy

Cody was proud he ran Kevin hard enough that he couldnt light his own cigarette when they were done:devil:

Pappy

Haha thats awesome Pappy, I still want that yfz :blah:

As for Codys stamina, I witnessed Cody give a 400ex hell for easy 7-10 laps and the guy on the 400ex gave up and Cody wanted more :macho
