Does any one have one? Me and my dad went to price them and people are paying 90,000 + for a 70,000 car. I have not seen them on the road at all. If anyone has one, lets see it!

A friend of ours pulled out of a bank in his C5 ZO6 and a guy ran a redlight and T-boned him totaling the car. The scrapyard gave him $18k for the car and the insurance company gave him $28k more. He went straight down to the Chevy dealership and ordered a 2006 ZO6. He got it in Velocity Yellow. It comes off the assembly line June 12 and he should take delivery a few weeks after.

06-09-2006, 05:53 PM
so If I wreck my 2002 GMC I wonder If I can get a Z06... hmmm..

A freind of mine works at a chevy dealer here in Jersey. He told me that they are not letting the new Z06's off the lot for anything less than $20k over sticker price. He also told me that they are not going to have them sitting on the lot you have to order it and it would take any time up to a year to get delivery.

If it's a convertible it's not a ZO6, they only come hardtop.

I haven't seen any ZO6's here, but I saw a regular 'Vette get eaten alive by an RX-7 a couple days ago. :D It was pretty cool cause the Vette guy kept reving up and stuff and the RX-7 just sat there until the light turned. It was the coolest race I ever saw :D

Anyway, those Z06 'Vettes are awfully exotic for just $75,000. I was looking at the specs - 0-60 in under 4 seconds, sub 11 second q-mile, carbon fiber this, titanium that.... Sodium coated exhaust ports? What the hell is that for? It sounds a lot like the spec sheet from a Saleen S7 to me!

Reports say that blue demon is still on.

But, it has been re-named, it was called the blue demon because the chief enginner is a Duke University graduate.

It is now called the Corvettte SS, and will push out close to 700 HP.

You will also have to go through a safety course before you are allowed to make a payment on the car, A mandatory safety course must be taken for anybody purchasing the car, just because GM doesnt wanna get sued by someone saying this car is to powerful for the general public to drive, and so you do not get morons behind a car with that much capability.

Look for a price tag of well into 100k mark.

I've been in the Corvette Club of America for 15 years and been to Bowling Green, Kentucky ( Corvette Plant) about 6 times, and I know some guys who are pretty up there and this is what their telling me. Cannot say if it is true or not, but like I said, these guys were the ones that told me about the zo6 before anyone had any idea about it. And they were right on.

And about the ZO6, I picked one up in September, I got it for a great deal at the time. I still payed over sticker for it, but at the time I got it people were throwing deposits down that were well into the 80's some low 90's.

It was tough to see my 67 go, But I good a good deal on it! I knew after I sold my 67 exactly what I wanted so it was not tough.

Here are some pictures from pick up day.

It is worth as much as someone will pay for it.

Honestly, the muscle car market has gotten so out of control, due to stuff like Barrett Jackson, Meccum Auctions, etc.

That you really can not put a set price on anything, The 67 big block vettes are going crazy right now.

I was expecting to get 75k for mine tops, and lets just say I got a bit more than expected!

Ya the New Z06's are sweet. We have a 2003 Z06 and its awsome. We sold our 66 427/390 roadster for 57,000 to corvette central and they resold it for 74,000 2 weeks later... They really are amazing cars.

They are sick, the newest one I've rode in was a 2001. My buddy's dad has a 2004, I sat in it but didn't get the chance do ride aboard. The Z06 is tiny, they keep getting smaller every year!

The new Corvette won't be called the Blue Devil or SS...it's gonna be called Corvette Stingray. It's going to have 625HP and it's running a Supercharged 7.0-Liter LS7. It's supposed to be even lighter than the Z06 also with an MSRP right around $100,000.

I just don't like the overall feel of a corvette. I've driven plenty, from an 85 to a 2003. I just don't like the dashboard being at my eye level, and i'm not short. I'm 6 foot 2. It's just a preference thing. I just said that to get someone all wryled up, and it obviously worked:devil: :macho

I'm 5'9" and I don't have any problem with the dashboard....you must be a very short 6' 2":blah:

Dunno to each his own I guess, but thats how most performance cars are, I think alot of it has to do with the long nose making the dash seem so high.

Yea, I can tell you said it just to get everyone wryled up.

Because there is nothing overrated about the Corvette, if anything it is underrated.

You cant get any car like the ZO6, for the price of the ZO6.

if its like you describe it could be worth quite a bit, even more if its a numbers matching, original paint/interior car.

yeh its all matching, has the original paint on it from 68 and theres not a scratch on it. I know its hard to believe but its true. everything from bumper to bumper is stock and restored to stock. it sure is fast to lol
