emo started out as a style of rock music, songs with emotional lyrics and soft instrumentals. it basically evolved into a huge stereotype. kids who call themselves emo are usually looked at as losers by most people. it just isnt cool to wear girls pants, wear makeup, dye your hair black, and hate life. i will say though, some of the original "emo" bands were pretty good. when i say originals i mean bands such as saves the day, northstar, etc. not good charlotte and simple plan.

We're usually very outgoing, like to have fun, like to be outdoors.... you get the picture.

When I was in high school we called those kind of people "weirdos".. and they got beat up all the time.
Then a few years after graduation, you'd hear about them ODing.

I feel it's a misleading stereotype just like all the other stereotypes in the world. Some people just want to be different who are we to judge them? Who cares what someone wears or does when it doesn't even affect that person. I have a close friend that wears mostly all black, he excels in college and is in a band. Try to actually get to know people before judging them, that's what's wrong with todays society, most people assume ( ***- U -ME) before even getting to know someone. If you have time to worry about what other people look like or are dressing like and have time to make fun of them, you truly should look at yourself because you are in the wrong.

Stero-typeing is a game people play when they are still growing up in life. Its pointless and immature. I have alot of friends who dress emo, but deffinitly do not cut themselves. Infact they are one of the nicest people iv met. Some are in bands some just dress like that.

I listen to some AFI and Hawthorne Heights, theres some pretty good songs. But i'm not depressed about life or nothing, and I look at these people as I would most others.

Well they only did it for a few weeks and then that stage in there life was over!!!!

By the way emo is just a stage people are going to go through.

And to add to the normal at my school alot of the emo's at my school arent looked at that differently because there are that many of them.

Really the only thing different from an "emo" and a "Normal Person" is the way of thinking!!!!( But guys think different then girls does and guys and girls get along fine:confused: )

Yeah thats how alot of people at my school dress!!! B/c at my school there arent many goths left!!! ( I go to a small school) So once one person trys something different then it seems everyone trys it!!!

BY the way, I never said that I didnt like them. Some the "emos" (notice thats in quotes) only dress differently. And like I have said before there are tons at my school and most of them are still pretty cool people( they act the way they fell comfortable with and thats fine with me). we had a couple of them types in school in the late 80's, i see them all over the place now, they are scary looking and look like they are ready to kill somebody. wow how times have changed. ya that was a funny video. this is the first of the "emo" name ive heard.
