Do you have to use race gas with a 309 kit for a 300ex? And also will that give it alot of power?

you could bore an stroke your motor to a 406 and not have 2 use race gas.....or you might have 2....just depends on how high you go with compression

if you go to a 12:1 but, a 309 is maybe a 10:1 you can run 93

the only things that effect compression ratio is the stroke and piston although you may want to run race gas to help the machine burn cooler.

like nausty said, it'll make ur quad run cooler.
but then race gas is really expensive, and you'll have to re-jet (jet up) with race gas, so you'll be useing more gas.
If I were you, I'd just get something like 11:1 compression (wiseco makes 11:1 i think), and run 92-93 pump gas and some klotz octane booster (or fuel additive, i cant remember what it says on the side of the can, buts its a blue can, lol).
This set-up will give you almost as much power, a more reliable quad (than 12:1 or any high high high compression), and spend alot less on gas.
But If you a serious hardcore racer, go for the race gas.
