sorry if this is a dumb ? but my friend was telling me that when u buy snomobiles you have to buy all the gages and wiring seperate, is this true?

NO the only thing you have to wire is for a heated shield on your helmet.

Your friend is not completly wrong . Depending on the model of sled you buy , some have gauges , some don't .

Most snowcross race sleds don't have any gauges other than a tach , so basically if you want to convert this type of sled for trail riding , you'll most likely want gauges like a speedometer , temp gauge , maybe a fuel gauge .

Same goes with a lot of older model sleds ..... lots of guys wire in temp gauges themselves cuz the sled didn't come with one .

Some of the manufacturers offer different gauges as options .... so really you you are paying for them if you want them .
