View Full Version : good rim for trail riding ne ideas?

i have a DS650.. and im having a problem with the stock rims.. the trail riding we do is fast paced.. n hard somtimes.. at the end of the ride i find my self with a hammer.. beating the rim on the inside and outside.. from rocks.. or ne other thing that might of hit it denting it.. ive even had it get dented so bad that the bead on the tire wouldnt seal until i bent the rim back in.. thurs only so much u can do with a hammer.. ne idea for a light TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH rim?

choose your path more carefully..........not sure what rims are stock on a DS, but my cannondale had junk rims from the factory. I think they were ITP 125's. The stock honda & yamaha rims seem to hold up very well for me.

my bajas have not let me down yet. they are about the same as a stock yamaha/honda rim but with a reinforced ring also. they are a little bit wider than stock but they made my z400 a deserable width.

anyone have any experience with the new aluminum mags on a sport quad? I have a set of Douglas Rokstars on my Rhino and the seem to be doing well...................considering mags on my sport bikes since I am only trail riding. Not that I need new wheels................just considering my next step.

IDK about you guys, but I race XC and I use the bajas on the back and I still manage to beat the crap out of the ring. I always have to bend it back out with channel locks. Next rear wheels will be hipers for sure.
