View Full Version : Trail Riding YZF450?

how are these on trails.. i curenently got a DS650 and was lookin for a 400-450 for tighter trail riding.. i was thinkin either a KFX400 or this.. tell me what u think? and how reliable are these?

For strict trail use I would go with the KFX. The YFZ seems to be to low for most of the trails around here.

any one else? im also curious as how you guys like your yfzs for trails. ive searched and cant seem to find a straight answer. are they comfortable and good for harescrambles? im close to 200lbs and about 5'10ish.

I love mine for GNCC type racing and trail riding....have had both the honda and yfz.....like both but currently run a yfz....it suits me a little better...good luck!

It's all about what suits you best. Any 450 would be a good trail bike as far as performance but you need a bike that YOU'RE comfortable with not one that someone else is. Go to all the dealerships and sit on all the 450's and choose one.

That's exactly what it comes down to. To tell you the truth the 450R was a more comfortable ride than my YFZ but the YFZ just suited me well (gearing and power-wise) so it's what I went with.

ive got seat time on a 450r and it feels alright and does well on trails. it just sits up really high for me. the yfz feels comfy but id like to ride one before i make any choice. twards the end of summer ill be atop a 450, but which one, i dont know yet.
