Pulled the quad out today for the first time this year; she's been sitting dormant on the stand since last september :eek2: I'm so glad I drained all the fuel out and cleaned the heck out of my FCR carb last winter. I filled it up with 110 octane and it fired right up 123 like i've been riding it all day :D I smiled and thought to myself, "yep, it's a Honda alright" :p I forgot how freakin fast this thing is, it scared me for a second when I got into it! Anyways, I can't wait to get some track time in this summer! I snapped a few pics for you guys to enjoy. Old School Baby!

I don't know if they make it anymore but it is simply a larger oil cooler. 3 times larger than the stock unit to be exact. They claim it drops the oil temp by as much as 50 degrees. I don't know how accurate that is, but it does hold a bit more oil and definitely keeps things a lot cooler than the stock oil cooler. www.deserttoyzatv.com or call them about the Supercooler system at 623.334.3346 :)

What is the red tube by where the battery is/was on the left side of the frame?

What kind of front suspension are you running? is it +2 or +3? sounds like you run some mx which is what i like to do too so just wondering what a-arms you are using. Looks like works shocks too?

No chain gaurd or skid plate on the swing arm either? are you running a belly skid plate at all?

Thanks

Thanks, I got them straight from Quad Tech. I know there is a shortage on carbon fiber right now so they have temporarily stopped making carbon fiber products at the moment. Try calling them at www.quadtech-atv.com to see when they will be available again.

The red cable is the new positive battery cable, the battery is now in the airbox.

The front end is a JD Performance +2 +0 forward standard travel setup. Running PEP ZPS shocks all the way around ;) I started out on Works Steelers but quickly outgrew them at the track though. They just weren't up to my riding abilities as I became more experienced :p They do make a nice recreational shock though.

Yep, no swingarm skidplate as I primarily run MX tracks. Would use a TM chainguide if I could, but that will happen when I get an aftermarket swingarm with the mounts for one. If you look by the front bumper, you will see the full AC belly skid plate. The bottom of a frame takes a beating after a lot of MXing!

Thanks everyone else for all the nice comments! :D

ah okay, i jsut figured mx'ers didnt want all the weight of the full frame skid plate and thats why they usually just used the chain guide.

thanks for the info though :)

No prob. The full frame skid plates aren't all that heavy, mine is made of .125 aluminum. It is amazing what that thin layer of metal does to save a frame from scrapes and dings. Well worth it for MX or any other type of riding. You don't see too many MX guys running swingarm skid plates though because they tend to get hung up on deep ruts at times.

Haha I know man. Being away at college is a biatch. I sent my motor to GT Thunder in December of 2004.....still runs like a champ! Awesome reliability if you ask me  Glad you like it cuz I sure do! It's the reason I didn't jump on the 450 bandwagon; I wanted to make my tried and true 400 more competitive instead :D
