question on 416

Hey guys.My 2002 400ex is all stock? Would going to a 416 and a hot cam stage 1 be a good upgrade? Does it have to be ported and polished? And if I shoudnt go to a 416 right now,whats some good mods that will wake up my qaud? thanks alot

I would get a k&n and full exhaust first to make the best of your airflow, and if you do alot of hill climbing or trail riding i would suggest dropping a tooth on the front sproket that alone will wake it up quite a bit. i ran like that for a year then i built my 416 with the mods listed in my sig and that really helped but I wouldn't do a build on the motor until you have your pipe and filter.

I have a k&n filter on it.I mostly just ride around the trails with friends,and do a lil stunting,well try.... I am gonna order a new sprocket front and rear.Should I drop the frontto 14 and keep the back to 38? Would it affect my top speed alot?
