Easy bro, It happens... not necessarily his fault, but keeping chain slack in specs. is a very good idea.

Was your case guard on there? Did it get ripped off or what? The case guard is suppose to prevent that damage from happening.

same thing happened to me... i jb welded it and got the strongest chain i could find and a baldwin motorsports case saver and everything has been fine since
