reverse Q?

I am going to buy a 400ex in the next month or so and was wondering what is a better way to go. Could I buy an older ex and put a reverse gear in it from an 05 or newer? Or should I just buy an 05, cuz my dealer still has an red 05 on the floor? How does that reverse work on the newer ones?

to put the reverse in an older 400 you need the engine and reverse lock button and cable.if you want the reverse just buy an 05-06.

to put it in reverse is easy.put the quad int first gear,turn the knob on the right fender and shift down once while holding the knob.the quad will have a rev limiter and wont satrt while in reverse.

I have an '05 with reverse, and I use it all the time. If you get a rev-box (they're a cheap add on) you can start it in reverse.

Buy a 2005 or 2006. It would save you a ton of time and frustration. I have a 2006 and I love the reverse. Getting On and Off the trailer is a breeze now.:D

Thanks, Do you think that $4500 is a good price for a new(floor room used) 2005 ex? My dealer gave me 1000 off went i went there but that only went down to 5000. Sorry if I am off topic but I didn't want to make a new thread for another doumb question.
