I wouldn't call it fully built since the engine is still stock but about everything else is aftermarket/modified.

I was looking at some of my old threads the other day and found these pics. It was a 330ex my buddy and I built a few years ago. It had +2 400ex a-arms and 400ex Works pro-series front shocks. We made a jig from a 400ex, cut the 300 shock mounts off and made new shock mounts welded on higher as if it were a 400ex. It had a several other parts on it also. Last I heard the guy who bought it turned it into a drag quad.

nice quads everyone, does the 400ex a-arms and shocks bolt right on to the 300ex, how much do you think it would cost to get just about everything aftermarket, such as a-arms, shocks, nerfs, plastics, i also heard that sparks are good pipes.

The 400 arms will bolt up but you'll need a shockmount relocator to make the shocks fit right.

Aftermarket a arms run about $450 and up
shocks are $400 for works and prices go up from there
nerfs $120 and up
plastics- maier is about $300-$400 for the set and fullbore is about $500 for the set.

The sparks pipe is awesome and compared to some other systems the price isn't too bad. It's a bit loud but the spark arrestor version isn't too bad. You're looking at around $400-$450 for the pipe.

Hey kyle you can get those air scoops off ebay for like $45. I was going to get a set, but it doesn't look like it will fit since I run the bracket relocator.

No idea how the hell you built that for only $2500. You must have some good friends. And not to mention run an atv salvage yard.

I'd sure like to know how you managed it if you'd care to share your methods

Thanks...

Lets see, when you build one from the ground up and buy almost every part off ebay along with I own a machine shop it dont cost as much. It took me two years waiting and watching on ebay to bargin for every peice I needed. I do all my own machining and painting so thats how. No bull*****. :D

bwamos

I'd say soo.. i remember when mine was all stock. at 180lbs a 3-4ft tall jump on a table top would bottom out so hard, the frame would have hit the ground if it could have, instead it would oval out my stock rims... It was rough.. lol.

That poor thing went through a beating before I upgraded the shocks. Snapped the lower eye right off of the front right one in Wynoka, OK. All of the oil leaked out, and it wasn't rebuildable.. so we welded the eye back on.. and kept riding.. Talk about a bouncy wheel.. lol. Better than sitting at camp.. haha.

Pappy
07-10-2006, 01:45 PM
I can imagine:p

He was not doing alot of the jumps because of the suspension. I told him he better not break this quad to pieces so I reckon he listened. That big jump just throws you perfect and he downsided it smooth.
