need help

I just rebuilt the carb on my quad and got it running. when its in neutral, it idles high, but in gear it sputters and boggs down, i assume its running rich? when i adjust the idle at the fue/air screw, it wont stay at a constant adjustment, its all over the place! what should i do?:(

Be sure to check all intake joints for air leaks.

just checked everything out again, all the intake is sealed and flowing....still scratching my head....

Details about your bike? settup? current jetting?

its for a bayou 220, its got a mikuni carb, and i have no idea about the jetting just yet, i just got the quad.

spray some starting fluid, wd40, carb cleaner, etc. all around the intake area....by all seams where the carb meets the head and intake runner. just not before the carb by the filter, any leak there would only mean your getting dirt into the motor. anyway, if there is a change in motor idle, performance at all like it bogs or increases rpm, then you have a leak and you cant see it.......
