need advice

Hey my name's jordan and i'm new to racing...i've been riding a honda 300ex and it's awesome...my friends dad suggested that i start racing cross country before i start motocross..i'm not really sure which to do and what bike would be good to use..also i'm looking for trails/tracks that would be good for a beginner
any other advice would been greatly appriciated!

Well, MX is much more dangerous than XC. Being as you are a beginner rider, you could start racing XC and improve your basic riding skills. Then as you get better, you could try MX and get used to jumping. Also, in stock form a 300ex is more suited for XC than MX.

EDIT: The Midsouth Harescramble Series is an XC series that covers Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. It may be worth looking at, www.msws.org.
