clutch going out?

Today I went riding and when I floor it in 3rd gear or higher it revs out but doesnt accelerate like it should. Do you guys think this is because my clutch maybe be going out? Its still the stock clutch so its pretty old. Also do I have to slit the cases to fix it?

You got it, it sounds like your clutch plates are bad. They are not that hart to change. All that you have to take off is the right side cover. You will need a new gasket for the cover. Soak the plates in oil before you put them in. Stock plates are the best. Lay the quad on the side, it works better than using a work stand. If you need more help just ask.
