making your own supertrapp shorty

has anyone ever done this? i'm trying to make the powroll exhaust for the 350x/250x conversion a shorty. the exhaust is just a supertrapp 4" silencer. the rear of the silencer flares out at about 4 inches or so, it looks like we'll have to cut the weld off towards the midpipe and make it shorter there and reweld it. anybody do this???

I've got, what I believe is a super trap, and what is the up side to making it shorter...

I have almost what can pass for a supertrapp shorty on my atc200x, its a cobra header that I cut back and 350x supertapp, mid and tail section.

if I cut back the mid pipe some it could bolt to the other hole that the grab bar wraps around and it would be shorty.

here is a pic of my tc shorty on my crf450r, its not the best pic, but you can see where the silencer starts.

http://www.geocities.com/wishmasstir/250xx5.jpg you can see in this picture of it the weld near the clamp by the midpipe. we're thinking of cutting the weld off and then getting it welded back on before the mount and then welding a tab on the frame to bolt it down....sound okay????? or should we just look for a smaller can on ebay or something and try that???

why is that silencer so long, send me the measurements of the diameter of where the silencer mounts to the mid pipe and maybe the shorty silencer will fit right on. Maybe you can shorten the silencer and you will have to weld a tab to the frame to bolt the silencer on and be done.

thats the powroll conversion exhaust...its a supertrapp silencer though. i'll get the measurement asap
