ok what do you guys think about about one with a dark blue or really dark purple with metal flakes would look? Also a suggestion on seat cover? I plan on keeping it without graphics and I was thinking of the white brothers seat cover that is black and white.

Nausty, I think that would look sweet.
I've ordered Maier dark blue side panels for my 400 (the new shiny ones), so I'm debating on what color seat cover to get as well. I was thinking of a blue/grey/black K&K or Legacy, or a custom one. I just got a Nacs anodized blue parking brake block-off, and I painted my grab bar to match, doesn't look too bad, but I'm going to get it powdercoated dark blue this winter. I also painted my exhaust shield blue (using 1200 degree paint). It all looks pretty good IMO. I also need to powdercoat the wheel hubs...I can't wait to see how the blue side panels look. Hopefully I can get some pics up by the time they come in.

go with the blue looks a lot better and i think a red ceet seat cover would look good on it ......

but i find that cherry/ candy apple red looks the best with the yellow plastic, or that is what i am doing at least.

wow thanks jabber. I am really liking that blue though and will be even nicer this winter when the motor is polished and cs exhaust. I don't really wanna go with red mainly because thats what everyone seems to be going with and i'd like it to stick out a little more.

i was wondering what the **** that thing was sticking on your grab bar....

have you ever thought of a white frame i think that looks good too, like fischers cr250 in the atv sport mag, it looks sharp and no one else seems to use the white colour.

yah I know I thought it looked awsome but my dad didn't like it at all and I don't think it would look as good with yellow plastic. But heck ya i thought I was the only person who thought that fischer cycle quad looked sick.

08-12-2002, 10:15 PM
Jabber,

Can you put a little more red and blue into the purple and show us???

Nausty
08-12-2002, 10:21 PM
yah if you could show me it with a real dark purple that would be great but if it takes a long time to do I wouldn't bother.

08-12-2002, 10:23 PM
c'mon you can do it, do one with much more red and another with more blue, and I bet one of those will be it!!

thanks again jabberjaw, Yah I think i will pry just get the k&k seat cover though and I think the blue frame looks awsome with maybe a hint of purple. Yesterday I polished my pro pegs and my ac racing bumper and it shined up a lot more than I thought it would and didn't take near as long as I thought either.

thanks for your help

1. Open your pic in photoshop.
2. Click on LAYER/NEW/LAYER
3. Click OK on the popup window.

4. Choose the paintbrush tool and pick a color like blue.
5. Carefully paint over the area you want to change.

6. If you look at the toolboxes that are floating on the side of your screen, you will see one with three tabs labeled LAYERS, CHANNELS, PATHS.

7. Just below the word LAYERS is a dropdown box with the word NORMAL in it. Change it to COLOR then drag the OPACITY to make it sorta see-through.

8. To adjust the color, at the top of the screen, Click on IMAGE/ADJUST/HUE&SATURATION, then just move the HUE slider around.

You can play with any combination of the controls I just explained. Just mess around in there and have fun.

Nausty
08-18-2002, 12:41 AM
ok jabberjaw I tryed that but when I click the drop down and change it to color instead of normal it just goes back the way it was and the hue and saturated don't do anything. Although when its normal I can changed the opacity and when I go to color like I said it just goes back to the way it was before. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

Nausty
08-18-2002, 01:48 AM
wait, I got it, thanks anyways although i'm having a heck of a time getting the colors I want like white, candy apple red and differant blue colors and anyways is there a way I can just click on the color I want? other than redoing it in that color?

Could somebody do a Red Frame/Subframe with Gray Hammertone A-Arms and Swingarm on Red Plastic? Thanks

Nausty

I wish it was as easy as selecting a color, its freaking hard changing the colors with hue and saturation.

JabberJaw
08-19-2002, 09:08 AM
Try adjusting the lightness also...

umm it isn't quite that easy to just pick a color. It takes me a hour on each one just to really try a certain color I like. is all I got right now is white and a few other colors changed with the hue and saturation but nothing special.

Nausty
08-20-2002, 07:43 PM
what do you guys think of white?

Nausty
08-20-2002, 07:46 PM
baby blue

08-20-2002, 07:47 PM
i think the white looks sweet,
nausty if you could i would like the candy apple red and the bright blue, they don' t have to be exactly that same colour but close to it but along those lines, it would be a lot of help
thanks

well heres a blue color, I basicly wanna see these colors on my quad and your resembles mine with the yellow plastic and nerfs and what not. I also think a these could help a lot of other people decide on what color or give them a idea.

here is a pretty good red one I think. I really like the sparks pipe, its kinda loud but not obnoxious its got a really burly sound to it. I like it A LOT and noticed a pretty big power gain.

I do exactly as jabber typed, its really not that hard, basicly I just change start a layer and select it with a color and change the opacity to make up for the overlap and sloppyness and then I change the colors with the hue and saturation, first I use the hue to get the basic color and then I use the sateration to refine it and then I change the lightness of the layer. If you just paint its gonna look like crap if you don't change the opacity of that layer.

thanks, i will play around tomorrow, i got to get up at 5 30 so i can go to work and get some money...
thanks a lot, my dad and i will talk it over to see what colour would look best aswell as what company is going to do it for us...
the other thing i am looking at is that my ex has already a lot of blue on it like the nerf nets, shock covers, and pb block off so i am leaning towards red or white maybe the baby blue colour the lighter one u posted, hard to decide on which colour..
thank s again
Bro

Nausty
08-20-2002, 09:20 PM
if I were you I would get dark purple with lots of sparkles, I think that would look cool with the nets and shockwares, then i would pick white or black. I think i'm gonna have a local powder coater do mine, seeing how much it is to ship a quad frame and parts and the chance you take with the mail not to mention time. I don't think I will have mine powdercoated anytime soon because my dad doesn't like anything really, he says whites gonna be to hard to clean, even though i clean it. That and he thinks every other color is to plain or ugly. ugh

Hey Nausty, what kind of skid ids that in the pic with the # plate?

Good use for an old mouse pad too:cool:

the rear skid plate is a dg baja skid and the rest were home made.

the thing is that i have to get mine pc is becuase in some places my frames is rusting pretty bad becuase honda paint chip and the rest just started flaking off, so i want to sand blast everything down at home send it to my local pc shop and get her nicley done up and some kind of finsih so the paint doesn't crack or peel unless i crack the frame......
thanks a lot nausty, i think i am leaning towards the baby blue, only if i could see how it would match to the shock covers and nerf bar nets i could decide a lot easier?.?.?.?
thanks again
