I have a 2004 400ex with a dg fat series skidplate... i went riding up north this weekend and my skiplate has already been through hell and back. On this trip i smashed a few good rocks doing around 5th gear at a pretty good speed... My skidplate bottom end broke off from the top of it that is bolted to the machine- So the 2 massive welds that holds the protecting bottom piece on broke so my skidplate was hanging off my quad and was bolted on only by the 2 upper bolts. I will get pictures of this afternoon and show u guys... What should i do? Should i find someone that will weld aluminum or will that cost as much money as buying a new skidplate? I might end up getting a new skidplate (probley 1/4 thick like the one i got now) if it costs to much to weld... what do u guys recomend it that is true?

i ripped mine off last weekend, the metal part that goes around the chian ripped in half, i still got a small chunk of it bolted on.

im thinking of getting a PRM .250 but they look pretty goofy, if anyone has pictures of some installed I would liek to see them.

I just recently got a Pro Armor skid plate and am very pleased with it. I've hit some very large rocks(large enough that I bent my a-arm) and there's hardly even a scratch on it. They're a quarter in. thick and cost about $120. Get one you'll never need another skid plate again.
