Had a great time seeing alot of you fellows I knew and meeting alot of people from the site for the first time.

I know you D6 guys have been dying for some good pics of the action, and I did my best. This track doesnt lend itself to alot of options for photo op's but I think I pulled a few good ones.

I showed her mine and she threw a rock at me:chinese: :blah:

The future of our sport!

He was stuck, but threw that puppy in reverse and tore off towards the starting line:D

travis Jumper spent last year ripping up the Youth production class in the gncc's, this year he is ripping up C class!

Pappy

Cody made his official jump from mini quads to the big boys at this race. Here he is awaiting the start and his last words were...."I hope I dont get run'd over":p

Pappy

Finding the battery powered quad slow, the little tyke climbed aboard his big brothers quad to get a birdseye view of racing!

Pappy

Gncc Pro Rider Andy Lagzdins at the start. Andy looked as good as ever on the track.

Pappy
06-04-2006, 07:48 PM
I believe the start was alot less dusty then at past races held here, this is the first time I have been there, but looking at older pictures I have to say it was much less dusty!

Pappy

The kid in the back wanted to know what roost was, and someone obliged him:p

Pappy

B Class was next on deck and they came ripping through the first turn

Pappy
06-04-2006, 07:55 PM
I did not get a finish sheet so I am not sure who alot of the riders are.

Pappy
06-04-2006, 07:57 PM
Since I wasnt covering this event fully, I did not pay attention to what class started with who, but I think the Vet class was either started with B or hot on the heels of B.

I liked the way they spilt the atv's. It was a great way to help on a short course, made the day a bit longer but I had a good time:p

I almost knocked down the tall grass, but I figured a quad would handle that. I was mistaken:ermm:

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:02 PM
I knew I had alot of site members on the track, so I tried to get as many riders in the starting shots as I could

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:05 PM
One quad finally came zinging by close to me and I had to step back, but Nick and gbcap I was able to get in this shot

I had made my way to the field section to cut off the leaders, and I had hoped to get a shot of both of them ripping out of this corner. #38 Rob Hertz was in the lead but mechanical issues took him out, with Andy just coming to the inside in this pic.

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:10 PM
Andy gave him a look over, but that was all she wrote.

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:14 PM
The corners sure seemed like they were ruff on the riders, the entire field was choppy

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:15 PM
I was happy to see some real R's out there getting it done:macho

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:17 PM
The first laps always crack me up. Sometimes a pass is made simply because the front rider has the crap scared out of him:p

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:18 PM
As the first lap neared an end, the field started to seperate

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:19 PM
Andy was on cruise control

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:21 PM
I think there were enough bumps in that field, but they added a few man made ones also:p

Pappy

I kept watching for rain, but the sun kept shining.

Pappy

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:31 PM
I know after a few laps alot of riders were battling sore arms and thumbs

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:33 PM
Something happened in teh second turn causing this rider to head to the pits...he was back out there ripping it up in no time

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:35 PM
gbcap had a geat run today!

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:37 PM
Nick says you D6 boys need to come to a www.koontzadventureseries.com race to see what a XC course should be:devil:

Pappy

Pappy

Remember the tall grass:p I snapped this as the grass was mowed and 30 feet of ribbon and stakes was laid to rest:D

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:42 PM
The 200cc-300cc class was out next, and I believe that is sgeorge grabbing the holeshot!

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:46 PM
My son cody was running his first harescramble on a full size quad. He has the mini quad down to a science, but learning the ropes on a larger machine would be an adventure:p

he is on the far right on the black 300

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:47 PM
Our goal was for him to finish the race, and I asked him to just ride the course and not push his luck.

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:48 PM
I am pretty sure this was your C class winner, start to finish!

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:50 PM
Some of the ruts from the first race caught a few by surprise

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:51 PM
There was some good racing going on

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:52 PM
Shawn was doing real good, but he cut a front tire down with 1 to go and finished 5th

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:53 PM
Shana did good, finishing 16th out of 38

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:55 PM
You did good today, finishing 2nd. Give Cody a month to get dialed in, he will be a great addition for you guys to battle with!

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:56 PM
Alot of good racing on the first laps, then alot of spaces and waiting as the field seperated

Pappy
06-04-2006, 08:58 PM
I was paying a great deal of attention to the young riders in this class. Alot of good solid riding from what I saw!

Pappy
06-04-2006, 09:01 PM
Cody came past and smiled and said something about shocks:p

Pappy
06-04-2006, 09:02 PM
Not really sure, but I got a pic of it:p

Pappy
06-04-2006, 09:06 PM
I had told Cody that when he heard a faster rider coming, get out of the way. He did as he was instructed:p

the feild section was pretty fun. even tho it wasn't a break like i was expecting. damn breaking bumps. haha. the jumps added a cool twist to a normal xc race.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a347/gbcap/FOTMountain%206-4-2006/FootOfTheMountain06018.jpg

There was no way i was letting this yfz past me in the feilds cause i pulled away from him like crazy in the woods. he was def quicker then me thru this section just couldn't quite make the pass.

I slid on some mud and hit the tree on the outside of the turn right after that nasty rocky off camber in the first part of the woods.... I had a pretty nasty get off but whatever guys were standing there helped me right up and i was a little loopy after that and I couldnt understand why i couldnt start my quad and then one of them plugged my killswitch cord in. :D

Great pics!. I thought the track was pretty decent. I battled some serious arm pump the whole race, it would start loosening up then that field section would bring it right back. It's been awhile since my thumb took me out of a race and I think dehydration was the cause.
