if its a small part, get some Zip Strip and coat it, multiple times. once it softens you may need to scrape whats left off

does it discolor the aluminum. im thinking about stripping then media polishing the cool head. whatcha think:D

it shouldnt bother it, nothing that the media polishing wouldnt take care of

seeing this is a coolhead, are you sure it is not anodized?
