I have a ESR 310 kit on one of the motors I got in a swap. It had a ESR CR ignition and all that goes with it(now removed and for sale), a 38mm Mikuni Carb and the ESR airbox eliminator kit. I pulled the carb and V-Force reeds off of that bike and put it on my CT330 kit motor with a ESR TRX5 pipe and silencer, a X-Factor airbox with K&N filter.

Quad was bogging really bad at the mid range and had no top end so I pulled the main jet and it had a 430 main!??? Why would it require a 430 main jet? I put it down to a 180 and the plug is burning more of a greyish tan, I might need to go to 185. There is a mid to top end bog that I think the needle jet can fix. What do you think, am I on the right track?

you went from slightly rich to EXTREMELY lean. mikuni jets arent anything like keihins, a 180 mikuni is prolly like a 90 keihin main jet.

OK got it... I wasn't really sure if it had to do with the ESR ignition or the carb itsself. I will go buy some new jets today in the 400-420 range and see what happens. I only ran a few 1 minute runs to get a plug chop and only in 1st and 2nd gear with short bursts.

I picked up some jets today, a 410, 420 and 430. How much difference in jetting does the ESR airbox eliminator kit make? I removed that in favor of a X-Factor airbox so that no water and sand gets sucked in.

Also the ESR ignition I am asking $250 for.

Put in a 410 today and it was still slightly rich, but that should be good when I go riding more towards sea level with my friends, I will take the jets with me though to be sure.
