ok well next year im think about going out and getting a 250f.i was planning on getting the new yamaha Yz150f for the 85cc class next year, Already havae the 85, but i was thinkin it might be better if i get a 250f next year so i have a year seat time before i turn 16 and move up to the 125 class..i would rather have a 4 stroke becuase i like 4 strokes much better than 2 strokes..

anyway my question is what is the best 250f iyo

i was leaning towards the suzuki

What do you mean? I haven't heard of any YZ 150F yet. I think that Dirt Rider printed a pic from a Jap magazine, but that was a long time ago. I will take your word for it though.

A friend that rides bikes just said that you should get the 06 KXF.

I would say yamaha, but thats what I ride so im biased.

i have a yamaha 250f and i like it a ot due to the high rpm's they get...i used to have a honda and they are SLOW and the new ones with that goofy exhaust are even slower...my best bet for 07 bikes is kawasakis, i have riden them as well and i like them a lot because of how your bopdy sits is sooo much better, also with the new suspension on those things you cant go wrong

all bikes break somewehre a long the line doing sumthin, no one bike brand is more durable than the other, unless someone proove me otherwise, also from what i hear hondas do tend to blow up a little quicker than others

Actually, Yamaha has proven the most reliable as far as the 250F and 450F dirtbkes are concerned. This is because they are the company thats been doing it the longest. Eventually, this will probably change, seeing how EFI is "the new thing", and it's new to pretty much everybody.

I have also heard that the Honda 250F is the one with the most maintenance, but I can't argue with someone who owns one.

Go with the crf...sweet bike. Yzf handle like crap, rmz/kxf still have junk motors but have alot of potential. There all good but you'd have to put the least amt. of money into a crf to race competively.

they are all good, but all are very high maintenance, and when they break they are expensive to repair. the rmz is gonna be all new in 07, the honda handles the best, the kx is probably the fastest, the yz most reliable. my son has had 3 crfs, 04, 05, and 06. the 04 and 05 both broke, but not prematurely just alot of hours and hard riding. his friends all have different 250fs and they are all high maintenance and they all break. keep fresh oil in them, every 10-12 hrs, top ends every 25-30 hrs. check valve adjustment every top end. it still all boils down to what color u like or what sponsers u have and its like all other types of racing, its usually not the machine, its the rider or driver.

Bingo. They're all great, they all have their high and low points, and it comes down to maintnence. If you ride like a *****, of course your valves are going to be fine for longer then when you're racing it hard. It's common sense, they're all about equal.

if you dont get a ktm I say go with KAWASAKI KTM's still handle like ****. The motor almost makes up for it. But it doesn't. Untill they join the 21st century and start using linkage they will always be sub-par overall to the big 4.

i am pretty much in the same boat as you looking at a 250f. I was originally looking at the Yamaha since i have always been a yamaha fan but i am seriously considering a Kawasaki. They seem to be the best combination of power and handling. thats just my .02

you couldnt be more wrong on that one, all dirtbikes hav drastic changes in the design geometry

my bro has a 2004 crf 250f and it has blown up twice in a year. he dosent race but does ride it hard. they also rev up to 13 000 rpm. but the 2nd time was his fault, didnt tighten a bolt enough. one of my friends has a yamaha 250 and its also had some problems. i would go with the honda tho

i mean hell when i see a 2 stroke yz250 and i compare it to a friggin KX250 they look pretty damn close ! You really need to stop. 1st with the helmets, and now this nonsense.

Take a look at these two 250F's. Note differences.
