Cody must sure like his new quad, he wants to ride it non stop:p

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:15 PM
The suspension works fairly well being he is so light, but Elkas are on the way:p

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:16 PM
New tires are a must, the ballon stock tires suck. he is enjoying the power over his 90 though:D

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:18 PM
He is doing well so far, I have to take him to some trails to get him used to the heavier quad.

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:19 PM
His speed is increasing with every ride, it wont take him long to be a rocket on it

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:20 PM
I wouldnt hit the stuff he does on a 300ex:p

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:21 PM
His clutch work is awesome, what he learned from his manual clutch'd 90 is paying off

Thanks for posting the pics Pappy. It looks like he is having a great time. He'll get used to that bigger quad in no time. I have a feeling everyone is gonna have to be on the look out for him. lol. :D

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:22 PM

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:23 PM
Honestly...there is a trail there

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:24 PM
I havent let him hit any big hills yet....

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:26 PM
I am happy he is finally on a quad that is pretty much bullet proof and he can ride and i dont have to worry about it breaking

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:27 PM
The stock bars are gone, replaced with some Fly bars that he is used to running on his 90

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:28 PM
The big downhill we have is fairly steep and long, with a good offcamber and a few turns that make for excellent practice for him

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:31 PM
He didnt know he had bloodied his nose, until he started spitting it out:p He thought it was water from the creek until he saw his googles getting red spray on them:huh

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:32 PM
he has some strong hands and forearms, he rarely uses more then 1 finger on a clutch

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:33 PM
I reckon after 3 tanks of gas in 2 days its broke in

Pappy
06-03-2006, 05:35 PM

i dunno, i saw on the gncc class list it said 90cc (11-15years) so i think tou have to be 16 to be in the sport (under 350cc) class, i could be wrong though

if he could run sport class, it would be funny to see cody rushing past me in the morning race haha

Cody is the man! http://offtopic.forumup.org/images/smiles/hate-hail.gif LOL, I wish I could drive half as good as he can.

Pappy
06-03-2006, 06:20 PM
he will have to run a 90 (125) in the GNCC's....unless they start a 13-15 Youth production class. Not really sure on how far they are on considering that, but I could careless about nationals at this point. Ill waste that money when he is ready to go after something more then a plaque.

pappy, how do you take a pic like this? with the black background, and the overtaking shadow?

XCAdam89
06-03-2006, 07:04 PM
Probably at Night I would assume, since most of his pictures seem to be in the afternoon.

Pappy
06-03-2006, 07:13 PM
We were in a bottom and cody was being lit up by the sun, while the back ground was much darker. metered the light off his face so the background would go black.

so when are you going to bring him up for a D-6 Race? And when are you getting some white plastic, cause I really need some new fenders. lol

well, he finished his first adult xc race today. he did everything we told him, lay back, let the field go, and learn how the new 300 works.

it has a nice dented fender and some dings but all in all i think he did good. racing with adults on the track was a new expierence for him for sure, and now we have an idea of what we need to do to get the quad set up.

finishing the first race on the larger quad is an accomplishment in its own. that wasn't an easy track. i know it tore my hands to peices!

Pappy

He took it easy and learned alot, he is already wishing he had just raced it, but i think finishing was a good enough goal

i almsot thought he was going to get pitched right off that quad in the field section, he was along for the ride as those stutter bumps laid waste to those stock shocks:p

i bust out laughing everytime i look at this pic:p

Pappy
06-04-2006, 09:39 PM
he had only raced for 30 -45 minutes in the mini classes, he did the 1 hour and 15 minutes with no problem today.

i remember racin my 300ex back when i was 16. Jeff Stoess and the quadshop showed up at a local hairscramble to beat up on us amateurs. Unlike Cody i didnt learn how to get out the way fast enough. So that resulted in Jeff Stoes running his Atk straight up my ***. I saved the bent grab bar and have it on my wall in my room lol.

Pappy
06-05-2006, 08:26 AM
LOL..yeah its different when someone really fast comes up on you. For cody, the size and sound of the adult quads was way different then what he is used to, but he will get used to it and used to being passed:p

he has alot of learning to do, he is basically starting over. with the expiernce he does have the jump to the 300ex may take shorter then a brand new rider, but there is a learning curve and hopefully he can catch up and be out there battling shortly.

06-05-2006, 09:08 AM
from the pics you have shown, he will be adpated to the 300 real soon...the kid has some skills...i enjoy your pics of him so much...he will be a top pro rider someday if that is what he wants...

Pappy,
You have got to be the coolest dad ever. I can tell that you are behind your son 1000% when it comes to riding. I wish my dad got me into riding when I was younger, but o well. I hope to start racing xc and mx when I get outta college and can afford it.
