so im riding this big wheelie on my 250ex and as i shift into second i fall off the back, land on my butt, and watch the quad keep on riding that wheelie.:D it was pretty sweet, it rode for about 15 more feet by itself then went down, all i thought about was that my buddy didn't come around the turn and hit it since it wouldn't stop itself. nothing happened to the quad, it didn't roll, it's perfect, but now i can feel it. lol

when u loop-out a wheelie goin slow like that try nit to let go and ride it out on your grab bar..you wont be sore from that..haha iv looped goin fast like that and my machine ghost road into my friends sled parked at my house and ****ed it up kinda bad .(but not my quad):D :D

Like the other guy said, don't let go and ride it out on your grab bar, also hitting your rear brake will bring your front end down. How big could the wheelie have possibly been if you were only shifting into 2nd?

The wheelie bar never even touched the ground, nothing happened to the quad, I just fell off lol, and it just rode on the rear wheels. It happened to fast to hit the rear brake, I guess I wasn't thinking about that at the time. Also, I wasn't going fast. You don't have to be going fast to do a big wheelie.

Cool:cool: But practice makes perfect, and just remember to try to hold on. But you'll learn it.

This is what me and my friends try to do. Try to Stop While doing a wheelie. Don't let the grab bar hit thought.

lol yea me too. i remember when my 400ex was pretty new i was ridin a wheelie in 2nd and i shifted to 3rd and lost it... i fell off backwards when the grab bar hit and then somehow the atv ended up goin down hard onto its left side and it slid sideways across the gravel road i was riding on. it bent the hell outa the front rim and it gave the tie rod a little crook too. we and a friend spent several hours that night trying to straighten it out with a press and we eventually got it pretty good. one of the hard parts was gettin the tire off the bead lol those beads are damn tight and hard to get off when you dont have the right tools. but now ive had more wheelie practice and i can ride a wheelie pretty much as far as i want until theres somethin infront of me.

Losing a wheelie on sand doesnt hurt as much when you fall off but the consequences come about 15 minutes later after the sand has had time to settle in your underpants...not good.:scary:

Happy Riding!

Where is the big wheelie story????:D :D Just kidding . Quite a few years back I was riding my 3 wheeler up the road in 5th gear and decided to downshift and ride a wheelie. As it turned out I gave it a bit too much thumb and onto the grab bar I went , tried reaching for the back brake, which wasn't working at the time. So I am just moving along grinding on the grab bar until the bar dropped into a small pothole in the road. Thats when it got ugly! Over backwards me and my 3 went, still got scars on my back from that!! Dont remember what damage was done to my trike though.

falling off like that sucks, when i first got my 400 i was ridin a wheelie across my 20 acre field and in the center there is the driveway leading and i hit that small rise in elevation and lost it and slammed my butt and tail bone right into the concrete.... the def. didnt tickle to much and some choice words left my mouth and then i watch my quad go 200 yards by itself into the side of the house, no damage tho but if i sit wrong m tail bone still hurts....

I have never been able to do a wheelie on my bicycle, my Ninja 500, my Honda 250enduro, my buddies wheelchair...nothing. So I can't contribute here.
So, why don't atv's have tethers that kill the engine if you get separated from it, like a sit down jet ski?

i was slow weelieing my pred and i started to go faster and faster and faster then i was in 5th topet out id say right around 50 mph(bealive it or not)on the balance point.it hit a little bump and pulled backwards on the bar.i tried riding on the bar and sparks cam of it and up my back.

i didn't whant to let go and fall and roll.so i have 3rd dagree burns up my back.so practice makes perfect but sometimes it hurts.

i got a great one-we have about 8 acres on the edge of town. just some pasture. we mowed some paths and we ride there all the time. my buddy bot a brand new 400ex. after his 2 laps he let me ride it. there wasnt a spot of dirt on it! $6000 of japanese adrenaline and what do i do-a wheelie of course. 40mph i rev it out and pop the clutch. it stands straight up. i had my foot in the grab bar and when it hit it dropped straight down without me. i hit the ground running but believe it or not i cant run 40mph in full riding gear so i roll on the ground a few times and get on my knees and watch. i couldnt tell if it was going into the barbed wire fence or the neighbors pond. i made my brothers little friend give me my 250ex and i killed the 400 10ft b4 the fence

same with me second week i had my 400 i decided to do a 3rd gear wheelie up this strecth that i have done a million times b4 i pulled it up went about 30 ft and i still dont know what happened but next thing i remeber i was riding on the grab bar but when that hit a rock then the !@#$ really hit the fan . i bailed just as the quad flipped over. all it hurt was the pipe(totally mashed) the tool box my ego and my shoulder(from dragging on the ground).

so i went riding after school and by the time i got home it was almost dark so i was just wheeling in my yard and fell off the back, twice lol i wasnt goin that fast the first time but the second time i was but nothing bad happened, i grabbed the quad b4 it rolled away. I wonder what the car thought that was driving by when the quad was wheeling with no one on it. :D
