Is there a certain amount of PSI that you need from a compressor to run a impact wrench?

Higher PSI isn't the only thing needed for an impact gun. It helps to have volume too(larger tank). I can run one with my little 5 gal compressor but I have to stop now and then to let the compressor catch up when removing tough bolts like lug nuts on a car/truck.

so would a 2 Gallon compressor be enough for 1 or 2 bolts every now and then?

It will probably do it but you just may have to take a break between bolts. It depends on just how tight they are as well.

a 2 gallon tank is pretty small...if the bolt is tight and the gun struggles with it for a bit youll run out of air pretty fast..but if your tight on room or money than a 2 gallon tank is better than nothing

If you have a good gun it should work,Like the Ir 1/2" thunder gun:D

That is what I have at work.

like z03 said its better than nothing, but i use a 25(i think?) gallon tank at 175 psi and that takes everything off or shears the bolt/nut off.
