I just received inside information from the leading east coast HONDA dealer in VA indicating that HONDA informed him of an early 07' 450R release at the end of June. No word was provided if the new model will be similiar to 06' or if the new model would have EFI or not.

Just thougth I forward the latest rumors,....

I just picked up the latest edition of Transworld Motocross magazine last nite and they had some pics and info from over in japan on the new crf motors and bikes and all of the new 450 bike are all converting to EFI along with the new CRF450....

i'm thinking that honda will be unvieling the EFI model very soon.. As much as I love my 04, an 07 just might be in the works for next season...

Honda released the 05 early in the 04 year...and there was nothing new but a color change....I feel Honda will do the new dirt bike then the motor will be put in the quad.....I'll have my 06 for a few years......so I won't even think about buying one yet....and my wife would kill me if I wanted a new one.....then I couldn't ride at all

I agree it took honda forever to bring out the 06 model. In any case I am looking to get a 450r by the end of june so maybe I will pick of the 07 when I bet the 08 will be even sweeter oh well.

If they do an early release it won't have much changed on it. They are not likely going to bring all of their dealers to Vegas in September and spend millions of dollars and release a new product before hand.

the only thing i see them doing this year is making more kickstarts and putting the 04,05 front end back on.

I heard they were going to switch it to air cooled and make it pull start and the HRC kit for it would come with a grass catcher or mulching kit. That way it can pull double duty and we can justify spending so much money on them. Thats just what I heard so please take it with a grain of salt.

P.S. - MixMasterMike - It's just a joke, don't go telling everybody.

A PTO? That would be sweet on the '07 R. Maybe there will be a plow attachment too! Then I could build the jumps with the same quad I'm launching them on.

If they do come out with EFI this year, would there be a way to put it on my 04?:D

you all seem so excited about efi coming out but I am talking from experiance from a crotch rocket to a mustang or camaro you name it carbuerators are more responsive. you totally hammer any of my buddies crotch rockets and there is a split second delay. now one with carbs thats tuned right it will always jump out on a efi bike.same with a car thats fuel injected. just my .02

Not totally man. The EFI should be quicker if set up right, but it does seem off a little bit on my dads buggy. Personally I think its to much for a quad really, but unless it has kick start I am not getting it, my 04 has enough power and so does the 06's, I say honda would be further ahead to leave it alone before they overdue it. All the 450r needs really is a stronger subframe and it would be fine. But the EFI is pretty quick from what i hear about the new Z-450's

On my old 02 GSXR i bought it and wanted to get some more power outta it and threw a full Yosh carbon fiber system and K&N filter... I still didn't feel as if the bike was at the power range i wanted it to be at and i installed a Power Commander III usb and noticed a great difference in the EFI system..

I think if the 450r's come out with EFI a power commander would help out alot to get it mapped in right...

TRX 440, you are ok in my book.

I can apprciate that about the commander set up absolutley! but any stock machine stock vs stock carbs are more responsive even in neutral with no load for example you can hop in any modern car and just rev it up (free rev) stab the gas in neutral and there is a delay. it all depends on what you want. I love big torque(who doesnt, I know) and mad throttle response. its easier to accomplish that with a carb and MUCH MUCH CHEAPER!!!

I hope these pics are fake. Honda should step it up.

They should make the 2007 Fuel Injected. Have a Kickstart or electric start option. And on top of that have an MX or XC version. The MX should have wider arms, axle, and 18" R and 20" FR tires. The XC should have Stock everything but Bigger bumper and grab bar.

If you look at the pricing section it looks like you will be able to get kick or electric in all three colors.

Well, we all knew that they wouldn't make huge changes this year being that they did in 2006.

If you had to buy an '07, what color would you choose????

Lonestar_R
06-02-2006, 05:24 PM
I would say White....too bad they didn't do a throw back to look or a color scheme like the old 250R's.....you know the red white and blue or something.......

I think the white should have a black frame that would be by far the nicest looking.... as for the specs i dont see to much difference from the 06? or is there?

I think that the Honda 250r in 1987 had some sweet coloring with the red white and blue color theme. I think that the 06 450r with white plastic would look Bad Arse with a blue seat and a red and blue sticker kit similar to the 87 style. plus the frame needs to be honda red not a maroon yzf look alike color. just my 2 cents.

Quote..."I was clicked on the wrong post to quote...I was trying to quote the guy posting about Laker plastic....."

I have the White Laker plastic....I love this plastic espically the front....the rear is good too except you don't use the lower fender brackets...I know I ride with my calfs putting pressure on the fenders....and my laker is showing some wear....I probably will get the white rear for next season and make it work on my 05'....

I have done white, black and red. The red is the only color that holds up the best.

Im a die hard honda fan, but did anyone really think honda would make real improvements on a quad two years in a row? especially all they did for 06. they still need to widen it and improve the suspension.

Once these 07's come out im getting an 06 and saving alot of money.

the only thing I see new for 07 is the cool colors.

Good eye's didn't notice. Heat dissipation coating?sounds funny but I remember seeing something like that for headers.
