I realize that oem cranks are the best to buy, but as im looking for stock cranks im seeing alot of hot rod cranks. Has anybody had any trouble with these cranks. IDK which way to go.

hotrods are not terrible.... i wouldnt run one in a big bore and i have heard horror storys of hotrods cranks grenading within hours of being installed.... im running a 86 style hotrods crank on a resleeve 303cc jug with no problems though. they tend to be a crap shoot. if you get one have it trued and welded and you should be o.k.

I had 2 of them and had good luck, a friend of mine had one and bad luck. I was told they are a crap-shoot, my other friend loves them and had good luck with them. I would use a oem over a hot-rod anyday, but thats just me

I run a hot rod crank and so far so good. A very good engine builder said that it is actually one of the better companies that makes cranks for the 250r (Eric Gorr at Forward Motion)
