Where did all the aftermarket R's go. Just 3 years ago everybody that raced at the pro level was on a R, where are all those quads now. Even if you werent a pro and raced pro am or even A you had a aftermarket framed R, now its all I can do to find a frame on ebay. I wish now I would have bought one when all the pros switched to the 450's. I guess everybody bought the quad they dreamed of for years and must be storing them away.

Yeah but if one is parted out, another has to be created somewhere. I mean I was into xc big and I havent seen a XC R for a long time.

I know what you mean Beak....it took me quite some time searching to find an XC R with all the goodies, but it was definitely worth the wait.:macho

There are quite a few out there, the sweet deals go extremely fast and all the others are priced about $6500 or more.

I know what you mean about the xc racers though, I'm starting to think there weren't many because the frames don't take the abuse the mx bikes take.

they are probably being collected by the racers or other people. They also probably were converted to a hybrid 4 stroke motor and a bunch of them were parted out. A good 250r motor is still worth a good buck. I know that some racers had a garge full of 250r's and still do, they don't ride them, just collect them. Most if not all 250r racers used aftermarket frames, for xc guys narrow front end frames and +2 a-arms were the common thing, mx guys used narrow frames and +4 a-arms. There are probably also alot of aftermarket 250r frames that use a 350x motor, that was a big racer before the 400ex days. The aftermarket r's are out there, but aren't raced anymore, nor ridden much anymore.

I know they were out there, thats what I was saying. 4-5 years ago everybody that raced was on a 250r, niow everybody is on a 450. So where are all those R's, you think you will still see them around. I mean if I got one of ballances or borichs old R's I would post pics everywhere.
