What spark plug and gap should I run in my 440? Right now it has a Champion plug and it starts, idles, and runs good. If I let it sit and idle for a few minutes it will die when I try to give it gas, but it will crank right back up and be fine. Sometimes at WOT it will sputter and seem to loose speed but if you mess with the throttle it will straighten up and run perfect.

well for one, I would not run a champion plug. I have this hatred for them, they suck. Alright for lawnmowers but thats it. I would use an NGK plug. Try that, if it doesnt work then most likely its in the carb.

i would consider running a NGK DPR9Z plug. this is one step cooler than stock. what jetting are you running? i have a feeling that is your problem....or an air leak somewhere.

I'll try the NGK but as far as the jetting I don't know. It has a Keihin FCR 39 that was on it when I bought it.

i bet you are rich on the fuel screw/pilot jet or you have an air leak.
