My friend, and avid atv enthusiest, Jody Crum, died friday when a car ran a red light and killed him.

He was preparing to attend this weekends ride at Breezewood but never made it.

My heart goes out to his family and may god bless him and may he rest in peace.

Jody was known on the forums as TheZis2Fst4U

Its a tragic loss, Jody was a great kid, full of life and seemed honest as the day is long. He was so proud to have rebuilt his quad and his mom told me he was so excited to be making the trip saturday to show everyone all of his hard work.

I just sent down a large arrangement of flowers for Jodys services. They are red and white just like his quad. I included our deepest sympathy from everyone here on the site.

Here are a few pictures of his quad that he put the finishing touches on wednesday.

I looked for him at breezewood, and when I returned home someone had sent me an email that there was a problem with Jody and they needed my phone number. I replied that I hope it was quad related and that he was ok....I geuss the wording of that email did not sit right. I had hoped to hear back that he had quad issues therefore not making the ride and hanging out with us this weekend. :(

I know he was on cloud 9 about getting this quad done, when I met with him a week or so ago he was non stop smiling and expressed how proud he was and could not wait to show up with the Z this weekend to show it off.

I know he will be ripping it up in heaven, I just would have liked the chance to see his face when we finally met this weekend. I know he would have had a smile so wide and been so happy of his acomplishment. He was due to graduate on june 7th...it all seems like such a waste.

Sad to hear about this, especially at his age and knowing that he built an awesome quad and not got to rip it up... God be with him and his family, and I hope for the best for him.

This is such a terrible tradgedy to such a promising young man. Jody had alot going for him. He was a great kid who visited the park often, and will be missed. Pappy thanks for showing off his tricked out z, I'm sure he couldn't wait to show it off himself - I know hes proud of you for doing it for him.

God Speed to you Jody - we'll all miss you !

The Frederick News Post today had another really good article in the paper about Jody today. I know a lot of Jody's family, but never really knew Jody himself. This artilce tells a lot about Jody and how he was an extraordinary person who touched many peoples lives. I hope the link works for you fellow members to read.

Pretty cool on z400central.com how they have his quad up there as the quad of the month... I know he would feel proud seeing that:)

Jodys brother emailed me, and has joined Z400central to post this about his brothers passing:

First let me say Thank You to all of you. Jody (TheZis2fast4u) was my little brother and as you all know was killed friday when someone ran a red light and struck his truck on his way home from work. his plans for the weekend was to skip his senior prom and head to Breezewood for the weekend to take his 4-wheeler for its first spin, as he had just completed it last Tuesday.
A few weeks ago i walked out in to the shop to see his Z, in three buckets, Front, middle,Rear, the motor setting on the workbench and the frame being put in a box, stripped of everything and sent off to be powder-coated. Then for the next several weeks a different part would show up at the house just about everyday. Once the frame returned it was only a matter of 2 evenings before he had the Z back together.
He was so proud of his 4-wheeler, riding with his friends, and being a member of this site.

There is no doubt that everything he was doing was so that he could post his 4-wheeler for Quad of the month. Z400Central was his homepage and today when I logged on I was honored to see his 4-wheeler there as Quad of the month. I then read the posts.

It has been very hard, and i am sure the hardest is yet to come. Over 1000 people showed at the veiwing/funeral services to show there love and support but reading your posts on this site is as equally comforting to us as this was what he loved to do.

When we returned home Friday night from Shock trama I was looking at jodys Yearbook and his senior qoute read " Dream as if you will live forever, Live as if you will die today". He passed away 2 hours before I read his qoute.

Thank you!!!
