for some reason when my 440ex is cold it burns oil once it warms up it stops the piston was just installed and the rings were in the right places.......any ideas?

Did you overfill it with oil? When the engine was tore down, did you have your valve guides checked? A dirty air filter would also cause the engine to smoke.

How much clearance did you allow when the cylinder was bored? If you have alot of clearance then you will burn oil when cold, but when the motor gets hotand the piston swells, oil burning stops. More clearance = faster acceleration. More clearance also = short motor life(unless rings are changed often.

im not sure i took it to a shop and they bored the sleeve for me
