Excellent transformation! I love the look of fullsized trucks that are lowered. I agree with the others that have said lower it. It needs to be about 2 inches lower in the back in my opinion, mainly just to level it out. Great looking truck!

Looks good....:D

it's the picture's because it's a 2/4 drop and it is leveled out but my driveway is slanted a little. It's also if I had a 4-wheel drive I
would have raised it but since it was 2wd I lowered it better. that and I like lowered trucks alittle better in my opinion. Thanks for all the compliments. I appreciate it.

yah, looks nice and clean but that truck wouldnt last with me.

we actually use our trucks around here, that thing would get destroyed in no time

Lowered trucks= Savin' gas, Gettin @ss

you can use trucks just you need to be careful with mine because I'm putting my fourwheeler in the back. I'm not going to chunk concrete in the back or sling stuff all down the side. And for heavy duty pulling or putting stuff in the back, we'd use my dad's 2500hd duramax diesel. Even though it is kept just as clean as mine if not cleaner.

raise it anyway, lots of people raise 2x4s

300exrider3
05-30-2006, 11:12 AM
I need to be able to afford the gas in it. It's a 350 so it likes to guzzle gas. I like the look of lowered over raised anyways

Hey, it's your truck, if you like 'em lowered, go for it. Might as well do something you like, right?

If I'm not mistaken, it's carburated, right? They are not sweet on gas, that's for sure.

Your truck is really nice and I would have done the samething, lifted 2wd's are a waste. I love pulling 2wd trucks out of the sand in glamis with there $5000.00 lift and 38" tires with my stock Z71. What year is your truck?

Your truck looks sweet i just sold my a chevy tahoe that was lifted it had the same 350 in it and i was rollin on 35's and it got the worst gas mileage known to man. It's a smart move not to lift it cuz gas is just going to get more expensive as time goes on.

like someone else said they made EFI back in 88, but they started producing the vortec motors in 95.5 and 96.

oh and the truck looks sweet!

300exrider3

it's fuel injected because from 89 and up it was fuel injected but in 89 to I think 93 they had a regular 350. and from 94-99 they had the vortec 350 which has more power because the fuel is injected into each cylinder unlike the regular which was injected into a throttle body.

I do like the look of lowered trucks better because it looks faster and just looks good going down the road.

thanks for the compliments.

my dad looked at a 95 chevy suburban w/ carb, and most of them were still carburated, he told us chevy was behind on the EFI at that time

i'm pretty sure it was a throttle body. my 87 jimmy had a throttle body and i'm pretty sure that that suburban had one too if it wasnt a vortec. unless it had a chevy crate motor in it.

vortec didnt come out untill the 96 (95.5) model year.... they say if you put the heads off of a Vortec motor on a 95 and down motor you get a very noticable Horsepower increase.

i wold lift a 4x4 and lower the 2 wheel drivers, i think your stance is perfect wouldn't go any lower than that, and real nice truck man. Now u gotta up the HP to match the street rod look.

Heres a pic. of the truck im thinking about getting, its not to bad.

nice, im about to do the same thing to my truck. like you said, mines only 2 wheel drive so its droppin, if it was 4x4 it'd definately get jacked up. yeah, gas mileage on these 350's blow haha. but its worth it, i love the power. my list to start out with is: 2/4 drop, nitro drop shocks, euro tails, black headlight covers(cheap, otherwise i'd go with clear lenses), dual exhaust that exits in front of the tires, and eventually some wheels but that'll be awhile.

I have a Black 2000 Silverado 2wd reg. cab stepside , lowered in the rear, all body molding removed, Rims , tinted windows, clear head/turn lights, wuro tails, Painted front grille, K&N filter, Hypertech Programmer, flowmaster duals and an electric exhaust cut-out for when I like it real ****ing loud! , Rockford Fosgate Stereo system. Nice clean looking, and pretty darn quick with the 5.3 in it. As for the fuel injected/vortec ??'s Gm trucks have been fual injected since aroudn 87 they were TBI ( Throttle body injection) vortec came out in 95.5/96 on 305's and 350's but in 94 they put vortec heads on the 4.3, but many don't consider the 4.3 a 'true' vortec until 96. I am 98% sure that in 96 gm switched over to EFI but I don't wanna make too much of a fool out of myself in case I'm wrong.
