Well I traded my hybrid in on 2 250R's one TRX and one ATC. Turns out that the TRX frame was all busted up and had some other weird rigging going on so I tore it all apart and came up with following. Sorry I dont have a hosting site so I have to poste them up one at a time. Still waiting on new calipers and a new gas tank as well as my Duncan bumper.

Before:

And the after. I did all the powder caoting here at home in my garage as well as all of the assembly.

The seat is next to go!!! The person that had the quad before me weighed quite a bit more then me and only cruised it around the dunes. I have my eye on 2 new seats right now. One for this quad and another for the other 250r I am building up with the ATC parts.

I also got a little to crazy with the cutter on the front plastics and am trying to get another set.

It could be that I have a bias here but I think it looked better in the before. Everything kinda matched up with the color scheme and the graphics.

And I can't believe you cut those nearly new fenders. They are like $400, you would have been better off to sell them with the hood if you weren't going to use it and get $250+ and buy some precut ones.

It's too late now but I would have been interested in the seat as it was and the front headlight.

Fenders weren't nearly as good in person as they looked in the pic's. I am not done with the colors yet as I am still waiting on a new stock aftermarket white tank to come in.

In the before there was some sort of a busted up no link system bolted in place of the rear skid plate, the rear swingarm was bent/cracked, the frame was broken and repaired in about 15 places, and the list goes on. Best thing was the front arms with blasted chrome and the motor package. My plan for the color scheme is Red, white and blue, not just all blue and white like some of the nicer 250R posted here. Front light and hood are in OK shape but nothing to write home about.

Thanks for looking...

Josh

Looks nice, glad to see somebody still building an R up. Do you know which esr pipe that is? I've never seen one with that many welds up towards the stinger. I have had a trx5 and 6 and they didnt have that.

Pipe is a TRX5 it is stamped right on the ESR logo.

The subframe is tweaked to the left, both frames I have are like that, I guess some big butts were leaning that way... LOL I will get them fixed here soon.

Color blue is a candy blue over chrome and also over a matte bead blast on the covers.

I really like the bike, I just think it needs cleaned up and color coordination.

What I really want to know though is how's it compare to that hybrid you used to have?? Also like that you kept the same rim/tire package.

I plan on pulling it all apart and getting the frame done in a metalic blue with red flake.

Tank will be stock size but in white and I plan on getting a new seat as well.

Keep in mind that this has only been a 3 or 4 week build since I got rid of my hybrid. I have been trying to locate parts and this is what I have come up with so far. Some of you saw the before and after of my hybrid an this will be nothing short of that.

As far as how it compares... night and day. This one feels more peppy and light truning is better and the comfort level is nice as well.

I straightened out the rear subframe today and now is all level in the rear. I mostly just wanted to get it together so that I can see how it feels. Once the stainless bolt kit comes in it will all be stripped and painted then I will post up pic's again.
