I really want to find a new front bumper. The DG I have has held up well but sticks out way to far. I'm lookin at either a Duncan or IMS Intimidator but they're pretty cashy. I gotta gid rid of this DG, all my buddies call it the snow plow. lol. Any pics of your favorite front bumper would be nice.

Also, I found this combo on ebay but have never heard of them. Its from north coast atv I think. I like the looks but don't want to buy a peice of crap.

buy a piece of crap bumper? Thats funny man. It doesnt matter wat bumper you buy. They serve the purpose of defense for a single crash. If you have one decent head on collision with a tree, another quad, or whatever, kiss your bumper good by! I have tried many different bumpers, AC, IMS, Blingstar, and have had all of them fold like accordians.

My friend has a PRM Summit front bumper and he had a head on collision with a yfz. The whole front of the yfz was smashed, the bumper was to the frame, the front nose peice was to the frame, his $300 carbon fiber hood was smashed. The only thing wrong with my friends bike was a bent bolt.:macho

like someone said... bumpers are supposed to bend and fold up to absorb the impact of a tree or another rider or w/e the case may be... so i say go with something that u like and isnt super expensive

I hit a tree in the high end of 3rd gear with my PRM Desert bumper. The tree was 3 feet in diameter. It crushed an ITP T9 Baja rims flat against the caliper. I had to bang it off with a BIG hammer. The bumper was barely tweeked.

The DG I have has held up really well, its been nose planted into the gorund when i was jumping terraces and ran over a couple decent sized trees so its def. sturdy. I also know that you want a little give in the bumper so you don't break something more important and most likely more expensive. I just want something that looks better. I might just go with the cheaper red anodized one cus i've never seen one like it. Thanks for all the feedback.

I want to run a very similar light setup as yours, thats something else I am keeping in mind. This DG blocks alot of my lights, I heard the blingstars do to.

The only ones i find that seem they wouldnt block a lot of the light are the Duncans(mucho denaro) the TAGs and the motorsport TTs

Here we go again with the Elka shout outs. The precision dampener is an excellent stabilizer. I'd still take one over that Elka any day of the week.

jus curious, why would u take the precision over the elka, when the elka is far superior, with many more adjustments, read the review from the winner of the baja on an atv, he was using the system 5

Thats because companies such as Precision and WER mostly dominate it. Sure I'm glad to see someone else trying to tap into the stabilizer field. I guess if you're a die hard fan, it can't be any worse than "built to spec shocks."

precision and WER dominate it because there is no one else besides scotts who makes dirtbike dampeners, so obviously they dominate it

has nothing to do with die hard fan, better product, faster times, better finishes, simple as that, ride what works, and you will win, elka dampeners work

seems to me that anyone who has ever owned axis shocks or likes axis has some hostility to elka, y would that be, because they sell more shocks, have less wait time, more R&D, better products, and better service, or is it just because they make shocks? :huh

That makes me laugh. No hostility, just think it's an inferior product. Yes it's because they make shocks? Stock hundreds of sets on the shelf and are "made just for you." Have terrible valving from factory and seem to fall apart more than any shock I have ever seen. Yes I'm jealous of those Elkas.

when i felt a pillow i wanted them to feel like that 2, haha

but yes...they are done by laz, but they were decent when done by elka as well, just depends on how you want your shocks to feel, every person has a different riding style, what works is up to him or her

I have the prm-summit bumper and love it but my brother borrowed it for the gncc's and he ran into someone who was looking behind them trying to speed up when my brothercame to pass them and they ran into a tree and my brother ran into them and he said he bounced back and kept goin all it hurt was a tube snapped but can easily be welded but I bought the ims classic from speedy quad for my new 450er

Think about it, pay a little more and get a great shock, or pay a little less and when you get it pay someone else to make it better and it still isnt as good.

mine and 3 of my freinds all have elka. One had pep before and he switched to elka when he rode my 400ex with my standard travel elka's setup by elka.

One otther friend just switched from elka to axis and now he's pissed. He says the axis were setup too stiff for trail riding. They work ok on the track but his elka's worked great on both track and trail. The elka's were setup much better he says.

Now he's selling his axis to get alka's again.

dude u also need to realize, when i bought my elkas i was a C class racer, now i am open A, thats a big jump, you need more rebound and a softer shock, where as a c class racer will ride completely different and take more blows on the front shocks, requiring a stiffer setup

when i bought my elkas and raced C i was happy with them, now in open A, revalved by laz i am happy (i told him to valve for b class, being i wasnt sure how good i would be at first), now that i have seen that i will be decent at it and probably even better toward the end of the season, possibly into the top 5, then i will change the valving to more of the setup dj and ronnie have, being i will be closer to that level

i just cant wait to start riding for practice, get even faster, and hopefully make a top 3 in tebbets or florence :D

It took alot to bend my front bumper. 4th gear off the trail and into a rock hidden in the grass and this was the only damage.
