dumb question

This may sound dumb,but i have to ask.I have a 97 300ex.How much oil does it take,and do you check it with the dipstick screwed in or out.Any help would be greatly appreciated

it takes 1.64 qt and u check it with the dip stick out.

run your engine to running temp shut her down and pull your stick. wipe it and just insert it to the seat but not screwed in aand check it there. It holds almost 1.7 quarts
