need faster 300ex

I have a 96 300ex with fmf pipe, 132 jet, K&n filter, and 14 tooth sprocket. My friend just got his 03 300ex a couple weeks ago. I race him and he is about 3 or 4 more mph faster than me. Is there any mods I could do to make it go faster. Would a bigger rear spocket help. THanks for any help

no a larger sproket on the back will make it slower but a smaller sproket on the back will make it faster.

there is no reason you should have a slower top speed than your friend. with the 14 tooth sprocket you should hit at least 60 and your friend stock can only go 56. there must be something wrong with you the engine on your 300 or your back tires are a smaller size and you didnt mention it in your post.:D :devil
