What did you do with the choke and light switches. I have seen the choke kit for the carb but it looks like you still have lights.

I have a pull choke on the carb and I did have the lights on a switch hidden under the plastic, but I ended up wiring the hi and low beam together and they come on with the key. The z400 has 2 on positions with the key, one run and the other run with the lights. I just can't choose hi and low anymore.

Sure, here is what I have done....

Take off the clutch lever and follow the 2 wires from it back into the harness, cut off and solder them together compleating the circuit to eliminate the clutch saftey. I think they were Black and Yellow/Black

Next for the lights, I took the Gray, Yellow, and White wires, cut them back into the harness, and soldered all 3 together. This make Hi and Low beem come on at the same time, when the key is in the lights position.

For the ON/OFF switch... There are 2 ways to go... What I have is a normally closed teather swtich. If you have on of those, you can solder the 2 leads to the 2 switch wires and then the quad will only start and run with the teather plugged in!
The other way is to solder the wires together and just eliminate the switch all together. The colors are Orange and orange/white.

Last is to get a dirt bike kill switch and wire it to the Red and Black stater button wires to start the quad.

Then you are set, clean as can be!

Let me know if you follow that or need a better explination!
