Need help...

K fellas i got an 05 r and i started it up just to run it a couple times and i swear i can smell the pipe... maybe just some burnt stuff on it... but when i rev the engine abit abit of black smoke comes out?? not to much and not all the time but sometimes there are traces?? what could be the issue? thnx in advance

Sounds like it is just running a little rich. I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh yea so do i need to rejet it or should be fine? cause its not really that much... but it seemed to be running a lil rich during my last ride but wasnt to sure?

I would check you Spark plug. If it is white its too lean. If its brown it is perfect, and if it is Black and sewtty (spelling?) its too rich.

i could smell my exhaust and engine when i first got my bike and like the first 8 hours it smelt like a cinnamon roll so it didnt bother me lol

IF U THINK ITS RUNNING A BIT RICH,REMOVED THE AIR BOX LID AND SEE HOW IT RUNS.IS THE CHOKE ON,OR EVEN THE E-BRAKE ASSEMBLY MIGHT BE ON MAKING IT RUN FUNNY.

Maybe i will take off the airbox lid and run an outerwear and see how that runs...

Couldnt it just be burning the packing in the muffler???

I know when i first put my Rossier on it did that and i just figured it was burning the new packing.

Yea perhaps... i really dont know the engine light doesn't come on and it doesn't seem to be having any problems running but i was just abit curious...
