Ok, I found a 400ex that hopefully I will be purchasing a week from this monday. I would like to give this guy a down payment so he'll hold it for me. I have $300 cash, But I dont think I feel comfortable giving him cash as a down payment. What if I dont make enough cash at my party, and I want the down payment back, but he gets pissed and...yeah. I have also thought about giving him a check with next mondays date on it, could I cancel the check if it hasnt been cashed yet?? Help me out! Who knows, he may not even want a down payment.

IF you were planning on putting a deposit on a bike you can't buy don't put any money down. I'd be really pissed if someone gave me money as a deposit and I took the machine off the market only to not have you buy it. Your screwing him basically. How would you feel if you had the money and you put a deposit on the bike of your dreams and he sold it from under you. If you did that check thing to me i'd take you to court I'd bet the check would be as good as a contract that you were planning on buying the quad.

dont give the guy a downpayment unless your going to buy it. thats the point. if in the meanwhile he wanted sell his quad to someone else and he cannot becuase you said you'll buy it and have put a down payment on it. then come monday you dont have cash and want your downpayment back?? if i was him i might give you 150 back for the inconvience

that just doesnt make sense.

sorry but the best thing right now would be for you to either wait until you actually have the money and hope no one buys it, or go get as small a loan as you can possibly get so you can buy it with cash right their, and pay off the loan ASAP after the party

or borrow some money from a rich grandma or your parents lol:confused:

just let him know when your party is and ask if he can hold off on selling. He might just hold on to it if he's not desperate for cash, which it sounds like he isn't since its been sitting for years.

From all the Cards with money in them! My g/f just had a party and it was smaller then the one Im going to be having and she got $2200. Most of my cousins end up with $3000+ and I have all the same family coming. We'll see what happens

I sent out about 80 invitations. Most people give at least $30. If 70 people gave $30, thats $2100. Then again, most of my aunts/uncles like to give 50's and 100's, So I think im pretty safe to say I'll get at least $2000, but I dont make any commitments
