Could someone show me or tell me step by step how to tighten my chain on my 400ex. plzzz!

1. Loosen the 4 allen head bolts on the rear of the swingarm
2. Move the slider to the left of the bolts backwards to tighten, forwards to loosen. You will need a part such as a rachet extension or even the allen you used to loosen the bolts.
3. Tighten bolts back up

thats all right^^^ but when u tighten ur chain u still need slack in the chain.

can i do it on flat ground or put it on a jack?

Flat ground... I might be wrong, but win ur spinning it the wheels will move, unless its in gear... But do it on flat so then it won't fall off and hurt you;)

the best way is to actually be on it while adjusting it. Not possible, I know but if someone is close to your weight like a buddy or your dad, it works much better. With your weight on it, you should still have about 1/2" -3/4" play. You need that little extra play if you decide to jump the bike. The extra play will accomadate the drop.

I do mine with my dad on it...he's close to my weight.
