i know this is a stupid question, but i just wanna make sure

is getting your stock shocks rebuilt the same thing as getting aftermarket ones

Yep... But I guess if you bought 450R shox and had them revavled then I guess you could kinda call them aftermarket.. But not really.

yea, im bidding on some 450r shocks right now
so if i get them i cant just put em' on?

I know you cant rebuild 400ex front shocks, but can you change the springs? If you can change the springs what would this change?

I think you can but I don't think it would be worth the trouble. The insides of the shocks do the real work

The 450r shocks aren't a 100% direct bolt in. You have to shave alittle off the top mount but it isn't hard.

what did you use to grind the eye down? could you use an industrial grinder or a file or what

I just bolted on a set of 450r shocks onto my ex with I had to grind a little off the top and inside of the upper mount. Really easy to do took 2 minutes with a bench grinder.
