I am not sure what I should do? I have been in this dilema for a while and I want your opinions. Right now I have a job and by the end of summer I will have around $2500 after taxes... and then when school starts I will try to work after school to get some more $$$$. Should I buy some shocks and a-arms for my 400ex and get it ported as well, or should I put all that money towards a new bigger 450 quad?

Most people will say go for the 450R.

i will shoot for the ltr450 but i wont get this years model cuz there seems to be a shock mount problem...... and i will be saving for prolly a year............. if i decide to put my money towards a bigger quad

if u are extremely serious about racing, get a 450, otherwise, keep the 400

get an automobile... Believe me, riding is the most fun thing in the world, but looking back at last summer i wish i would have gotten the '96 mustang gt that i took my 450r over.

i wouldnt put another cent into the ex unless you had to make a repair........a 450 (any one, really) would be much better to have than an ex......not only because its a good 50cc bigger, but the suspension is decent enough stock to go out and race/ ride right away and go fast while doing so :D

I agree, you should start thinking about a vehicle in the near future.

What are you raciing? I am guessing MX. If you are racing MX I would get a 450 Prabably a LTR. If you are racing HS I would keep the 400 and put some shocks on it. I have a 416ex and It turns alot sharper then a 450

Like I've said in previous posts about what to do with money IMO Just keep putting it away and saving it because there will be a day when you need it for something more than a set of shocks and a-arms.
