He has been bugging me for a 4 stroke bike so he could ride and have something else to learn on etc.

last night we snagged him a XR80 from a member here on the site

It took him a lap or two to adjust to the bike

Your on your own with that statement.... I grew up/learned on an XR 75.... I kinda like Dirtbikes more, cause there more of a challenge, but I wouldn't trade my quad in for one....

i think dirtbikes are better in most thing but quads are better in mud and sometimes hill climbs. but thats only cuz i know how to ride bikes and quads very well i learned on bikes cuz well it requires balance etc.. i learned on an xr50 than went to a no name 70(crap bike...) than an yamaha rt100 than a ace ready yz80 now this 400ex and i ride my dads bike sometimes so with all my experience bikes are fast and better on most tracks but quads are more relaxing and are easyer to jump.

he always has had a bike, but when i got him that ktm it was flat out too fast for his style of riding. the xr will help him learn more and if it keeps him on the dirt instead of wanting to NOT ride a few nights a week then im all for it.


Natalie...Borich...Stoess...Lagzdins and many many others all ride bikes so i cant see it harming a thing. unless ofcourse he wrecks it and gets hurt :p

trust me...he is a quad guy through and through;)

If he's consistantly jumping that table top get some stiffer fork and shock springs from BBR or twobrothers and watch the frame for cracks. Since it's not a whole frame, the engine esentially supports itself, it's weak near the clamps. I cracked mine when I had one and my friend cracked his in half:eek: :p

I beat the crap out of my friends xr80, I jumped it right around the height cody's jumping all the time, if not more. Didn't bottom out if I landed on the back wheel first. You'd think after doing a bunch of corners on the xr, he will be better on the quad around corners and learn to lean more etc. The only thing I don't like about them is that they're so slow they feel electric lol.
