My buddy wants to get something affordable. He is not into jumping or racing, he just wants something for trail riding and dune riding. He is set on finding an old 250r. But they are pricey and imo 4-strokes are better for long trail rides. He is 26yo, 6', and prolly weighs about 175. I was thinking a 300ex. Dirt bikes aren't ruled out either. All suggestion would be appreciated. He is looking to go as cheap as possible.
TIA

Ya a 400ex would be good for him, he'd get bored of the 300ex to fast.

I'd go with a 400ex. I had a 300ex and found that it was actually holding me back. I like to jump and stuff, and it wouldn't handle it. I do a lot of trail riding as well. MY cousin and stepbrother both have 400ex's, I just got my Predator a week ago. The 400 isn't going to cost too much, either, they are everywhere.
400ex. tell him a 2smoke is gonna be high maint.
