This should be a good thread for comparison :macho
P.S. post the manufacturer of the bend with the pics, all bends are not created equal! ;)

Mine are Fly Aerotapered (Excuse my old TAG pad) in Mini High bend. Using a stock stem btw.

They look low IMO.. The best thing that you can do is measure them and compare them to the measurements on Renthals site.

I couldnt really tell you.. mine has the standard corssbar pad on it.. but appears to be about the same bend. I run a CR-Low bend on my 330ex. (I'm only 5'-6", lol).

True that man. I used to run lower bars, but it just killed my lower back during stand-up riding being so hunched over. I say your arms should be at least parallel to the ground but not lower when you are sitting on the seat in order for you to have a proper stand-up riding position.

Because I'm short.. lol. I'm 5'-6" w/ a 30" inseam.

CR-Low bars are only about an inch shorter than the CR-Hi bars. So they feel the same to me as the CR-Hi bars would feel to someone who's about 5'-9"

I used to run a much taller bar, and I got these for free so I wanted to try something different. While my back does get a little more sore after a race, I can carry my corner speed a LOT faster now with the lower bars. I rode my buddies right after this with my old bars and I feel like my center of gravity is rediculously high. My bars are still just a hair too low, so I think Im going to add another 1" to the overall height and I should be good. Dont knock it til you try it!

I just received my me bars yesterday. I bought the Tusk High ATV bend and they looked great right out of the box. When I put them on the quad I noticed that the clutch cable looks tight when turned all the way to the left. The bars are .6" higher and .75" wider. Anyone else ever see this problem? Also with the piece that sticks out on the thumb throttle my master cylinder is pointed alittle down hill. Is this going to be a problem or can I trim the thumb throttle housing? I'll try to get some pic's out this evening.

I removed the cable holder off the front of the steering stem and that gave me the slack I needed for my clutch cable. Now I've noticed that the brake line is a little tight when I turn full right. I thought about taking the top mount for the line loose and let it flex a little. Should I try this or can someone tell me where to get a little longer brake line for a 400ex.

I wanted to check with you guys and issue I have with some new bar I put on my R. They are not any well know brand but good quality construction wide bars. The problem I have is that I find my arms too far apart. This is an issue especialy in the mx track. In sharp corners I find that the clutch and brake levers are too far away and hard to action. Could it be that the bars are not Quad specific, maybe made for a dirt bike? Would it be a crazy idea to shave a couple of inches from each side of the bar in order to have my hands closer to each other?

Thanks

It is perfectly fine to cut off the end of the bars to your liking. That is why I run the bend that I do, it is already the right width so I don't need to trim anything off the ends. It is really the reason to examine different manufacturer's bend charts before you select a handlebar for yourself. Those wide bars will tire you out prematurely if they are too wide for you; it would be like holding yourself in the bottom of a push-up while riding. Pull those grips off and place your hands on the bars in the most comfortable spot for you, mark the ends and cut with the tool of your choice ;)

Does anyone know if the +2 braided line kits are +2 on the a-arm side or on the stem to bar (master cylinder) side? My stock hose is really tight when turned full right.

The +2 indicates that the brake lines are for +2 width a-arms. Even then, they will still have a good amount of slack from the center T block to the calipers. When you order them from a company, you should specify if you have a stock-length steering stem or extended so you can get the right length line up to the master cylinder.
