View Full Version : is it worth buying a 2000 400ex?

so i have been looken at this 2000 honda 400ex for awhile and he is selling it for 2 grand with some extras on it, he raced it he said and he placed 30th overall. so i was wondering if its worth getting it or not??

id be ok with it..

but first ..
look at the oil color and check the coloring on the spark plug electrode..

look for cracks in the plastic around the mounting points..

then, jack up the quad and see if there's slop in any bearings or bushings..

lastly, try a drag race starting in second.. thatll tell you some about the clutch..

Geez, I don't believe you. Give me the guys phone number and location so I can confim. ;)

For a 1999-2004, it pretty much depends how beat up it is. In any case, 2K sounds like a really good deal if it even runs. All those add-ons aren't cheap.
